Question:
Has anyone had Dr. Higa in Fresno CA?

Hi - I am having surgery on 11/14/00. Dr. Higa is my surgeon. I would like to hear any experiences any of his patients had. Good or Bad. Also, I want to know what you thought about St. Agnes M.C. in Fresno, CA Thanks!    — Patti S. (posted on October 25, 2000)

Hi Patti, I am not having my surgery done with Dr Higa, but I am having it done by Dr. Boone who is part of the same surgical team. My date is Nov 15th, so I guess I might see you in the hospital. I will try to remember to look for you..if I feel good that is..lol. I have had several co-workers who have had their surgery done by Dr. Higa and I have heard nothing but praise for him. I know he is one of the leading lap surgeons and has a good success rate. As far as St. Agnes goes, you cant ask for a better hospital. I had my c-section there 2 1/2 years ago and they were fantastic. Very warm and caring, especially in the recovery room. Good luck to you and feel free to email me anytime

You can look up comments on your surgeon on this web site. If I remember there were some comments on him, I think they were all good. I had dr Betcher(I was recommended to Higa, but they couldn't get me in when I wanted) As for the Hospital, I had a choice of St Agnes or Fresno Surgery Center. I would HIGHLY recommend the surgery center. Although I cannot compare, I believe the service there was excellent, the care was excellent. Private Room. They have a pull out couch for a family member to stay. It was like staying in a hotel. They also sent me a GET WELL card. Not just an anonymous card, but signed by everyone who cared for me. I thought that was an extra special touch. They also tucked me in pillows wherever I wanted. I think I actually had about 10 pillows at first. I am also told that it is usally comparable or a little less cost than the hospital.
