Question:
Can anyone recommend a weightloss surgery friendly psych in NYC area?

Dr. Drooker at Mt. Sinai does many WLS psych evaluations for the surgeons at that hospital.

Do u want someone in New York City or one of the boroughs? I know a psychiatrist in Staten Island who is very familiar and did an excellent job on mine. Though I did have to pay her out of pocket. Let me know if u r interested. Sena

I also saw Dr. Drooker, he was great. the only insurance he takes is Oxford, which will pay 50%. I think his fee was $100.

I saw Dr. Drooker on 3/1/01 and his fee was $200 cash. I would give him a call. He's at Mt. Sinai. I liked him because he deals with eating disorders and obesity and understands why many overeat.What's important here is he understands the need with the surgery and the changes where many psychaitrists don't get it and will deny you for surgery. He dsn't jump the gun.
