Question:
Anyone in Dr. Procter's program in Gainesville...how long can I

expect to wait until my psych evaluation is sent to the Bariatrics office? It has been almost 5 weeks, already and all the Psychotherapist's office will tell me is that my file is "in process". I'm really frustrated but I know the waiting part is very difficult on all pre-ops. I would just like to get my surgery scheduled for a time before my job gets really hectic - which usually happens around the first of April.    — cherryswitch (posted on February 19, 2003)

I'm not useing your Dr. But I was told that if your insurance pays for it. It takes longer to go throw.I paid out of my pocket and it only took about 3 weeks.

Well, the psychotherapist doesn't take insurance..so I had to pay up front. He had his money when I walked into his office. As a matter of fact, I'm still waiting for paperwork to file with my insurance company to get SOME of my money back.

I'm pretty sure my file was sent to Dr. P's office pretty soon after my eating disorder workshop. I had my workshop the last weekend in april, got approved early june and had surgery july 22. but my guess is that since wls has gotten more coverage and exposure that wayne and dr. p's business has gone up. if it were me, i would call everyday until the dang thing was sent and ask how long they mean by "in progress". i know i called my insurance company twice a day b/f i was approved. good luck
