Question:
Can I buy health insurance specifically to cover the surgery?

This is my first time posting anything on this site. i have been approved to have the surgery by the hospital, but my insurance denied me due to an exclusion in the plan. this surgery is absolutely not covered under the plan. my appeal was denied. i gave up after that for about 3 months. i cried when i heard the news. now i am ready to do something again to get the surgery done. i do not know if ther is any private insurance i can buy to get this surgery done or if there is any other options. the hospital said i could pay, but i cannot afford $20,000+ or they said to find a different job that provided insurance that would cover the surgery. i am desperately seeking help. my e-mail address is [email protected] i do not know how to check if anyone will respond on this site, but i will try. thank you!!    — sammyglo (posted on March 30, 2003)

I too was denied....and am now self pay. There are a few surgeons in the states that take self pay patients. Personally the surgeon's fees were affordable, it is the hospital bill that will eat you alive. If Mexico is an option for you..... My surgeon charges $6900.00 complete. You can check out my profile if you are interested in him.
