Question:
I'm researching Dr's and I can't decide which group to use..Kane vs Salvino..

I'm researching Dr's and I can't decide which group of Dr's to go with...Dr Kane's group in Elk Grove Village or Dr. Salvino's group in Downer's Group. Does anyone have any insight into these Dr's or opinions or ANYTHING that would inform me more and help me decide? Thanks!    — Lacy L. (posted on December 3, 2001)

I have heard good things about both Dr.s and can't remember hearing anything negative about either. I can't speak from personal experience, but I can tell you O went to BTC in Belvidere Il and have had wonderful success. If you want to know more, feel free to e-mail me. I've met people from both surgeons who had successful surgeries. I believe they do them open RNY. Personally, I wanted Lap RNY so I went to Dr. John Alverdy at Univ of Chicago and would not choose any other surgeon for this procedure. it's 1 1/2 hour drive each way for me, but it was and is worth it. Good luck on whomever you choose to use. I would suggest that you check out the post op and support group offerings of any surgeon you use. It can really make a difference.
