Question:
I am 4 months out and down 94lbs. Last Tuesday I went to have a EGD done because I

was able to get in very little food or water since surgery. NOW I am never full and can eat ANYTHING. I am not sure what to do. I am TRYING to eat small portions but am still ALWAYS hungry. I get in 80-100 grams of protein and 64-100 ounces of water. I am so afraid of over eatting. Could I possibly have a staple line disruption? Thanks.    — ann M. (posted on April 16, 2002)

I am 4 1/2 months post op and can eat very little food without vomiting. Water too. I've been concerned - though the WL is great! I'm down about 74 lbs. I'm interested to know about the EGD - Is that where they make the opening to your stomach larger? Sounds like you'd recommend against that. I hope you're feeling better but it'd be pretty upsetting to go through all of this to have it not work in the long run. Sorry I don't have advise... I hope you will consult your doc soon.

I am about 4 months post op too and I feel really uncomfortable about eating. I am always nauseaous, but I've been getting low blood sugar reactions, which scare me. I'm afraid to say anything because I don't want to end up in the hospital or anything. Maybe someone out there can address this for us?

I dont know what an EGD is, but I can eat eat eat and I am at 5 weeks down 41 lbs. Just dont graze!! Be sure to get lots and lots of water and by all means watch the bad carbs, eg., mashed potatoes, pasta, fruit juice. Stick with your filling nutritious food like meat and veggies. If I am starved I eat part of a protien bar. and neer skip taking your vitamins and iron, it keeps the cravings at bay!!
