Question:
how long should I expect to have to take my prilosec?

I am going on 10 months since my surgery, and I still cannot go without my prilosec. Is this normal??    — julia J. (posted on April 29, 2003)

Almost 15 months out and still taking Prilosec daily. It's working so I continue to take it. Nina in Maine

Julia, my surgeon told me it would be for life, just like the vitamins.

I will be on it from now on. It works so I'm not complaining about it. I would much rather take it once a day with my vits than have heartburn or other problems. Sidney Open RNY 10-23-02 down 80+

Is it for acid reflux or ulcer issues? I would say indefinately for now, but you can always try later on to not take it and see how you feel, but my doc said it could be a while, so to get used to it (I'm on prevacid) Goodluck to you!
