Question:
MICHIGAN Surgeon, to perform LAP RNY, whom is in AETNA NETWK

I am seeking a Michigan (detroit area)surgeon to perform LAP RNY procedure. The catch is, this surgeon needs to be in the AETNA US Healthcare Network. I can't afford to pay out of pocket costs. I have called various hospitals w/in the network w/no success. I think one problem that I am having, I am not sure the "type" (specialty) of surgeon that performs this procedure. Have you tried the Bariatric Treatment Center in Ann Arbor? I don't think they do a lap RNY, but my open RNY is scheduled for next week. They seemed very familiar with procedures on getting approval for an out of network surgeon. Hope this helps, email me if you want.

I had my surgery done in Detroit, at Cherry Hill center, St. Johns Riverview Hospital. My surgeons name is James Sapala and his phone # is 1-800 290-6565. I had an open RNY with the micro pouch (1cc) and I have lost 150# in 15 months. I feel just great too. I would recommend Dr. Sapala to anyone. He has over 20 yrs. experience doing this type of surg. His office is in Jackson but they do the surgery in Detroit. It was definitely worth it to me. If you would like to hear more just e-mail me back.
