Question:
Looking for someone that has had their WLS at the BTC in Columbus Oh?

I'm trying to weigh my differences about going to Coulumbus to have my WSL. I live in Vandalia, Ohio and Columbus is oh about 1hr and 15min away drive for me? What if my Dr. wants me to have the WSL locally?    — Tennille (posted on July 31, 2000)

Hi Tennille, I didn't personally have my surgery at the BTC in Columbus, but, Mary, the girl that introduced me to wls, did. I think her surgeon was Dr. Kazmarski (or something like that) and Mary thought that he was the greatest thing since sliced bread! Mary lives about 1/2 hour from me and about 4 hours from Columbus. I don't know if your pcp could "require" that you have your surgery locally if your "approved" surgeon is in a different location. Alot probably depends on whether or not the surgeon is in your "network". BTW...I had my surgery in Cleveland...about 1 hour away. Good luck and God bless, cj

I live here in Columbus, so I had my procedure at the hospital, they were wonderful, the hospital is beautiful and the staff is very pleasant. My family felt the same way. The rooms are semi private, there are twenty something rooms in the hospital. If you can have the surgery there I definitely recommend it.
