Question:
For Women Only!!! (Or men who has gf/spouses who have had WLS)

Okay, sorry to ask this question, but everyone talks about sagging/excess skin after losing soo much weight. What about in the pubic area. I certainly don't expect to look like a porn star or anything, but will the skin in that area sag as well???    — [Anonymous] (posted on August 3, 2000)

Personally I DO want to look like a porn star. Well not exactly, but things do appear quite different after a few hundred pounds are gone. I am down 140# and have about 47# to go. I hear that the TT will take care of any sag that is left. I sure hope so.

The pubic area and my neck area (totally different ends of the human body) have shrank to my pre-obese state after the loss of just 100 pounds.. And the difference is quite remarkable. ;-) So all I have to concentrate on is my panni for now.. Although the underside of my upper arms, flap with any strong breeze.. LOL

I had my RNY 2 yrs. ago and so far have lost 200lbs. Also had my paniculectomy one year ago. But ::sigh:: my pubic area does sag more than I would like. It is flabby but I guess I will have to live with it unless I get plastic surgery done on it which I doubt would be covered by insurance. But I am going to talk to my surgeon anyway just to see... But if that's the worst "leftover" from losing weight, well that's not too bad. I just won't wear bikini or thong underwear(not that I'd ever want to) LOL!

Well, I just had my tummy tuck last week and my surgeon cut my mons in half and removed tissue from the center to give me a cute little triangle like normal people have. I can't say how the scar will look but I am sure it will be much nicer than the former look of my pubic area. My surgeon is very skilled and everything he did looks beautiful my scars are perfect and I am certain he would not have made the decision to cut my vaginal area in half if it wasn't going to produce a great result. However I wish I would have been told that was the plan because it was a shock when I saw it.

I had a Tummy Tuck and a hernia repair that insurance covered but had to pay $1,000 out of pocket to have the pubic area skin taken out. It still doesn't look good and needs more fat and skin removed and immediately the Doctor said he would do a revision (the expense is on him) to correct. I was very fat in that area and he removed 11.5 pounds of skin from my Tummy.
