Question:
I am 6 wks post-op open RNY I have noticed recently it seems like I can consume more

than the 3-4 ozs they told me that I would be able to It just scares me that I have undone everything that my surgeon done for me. I have not ate until I have thrown up I have ate some things to fast which I instantly realized that I consumed too fast but other than that no problem other than noticing I am or think I am consuming more than I have been is this normal or have I sabotaged my surgery?    — Cindy D. Hi Cindy: Did you just move from liquids to purees or solids? Purees and liquids move through the pouch rather quickly. Also, you may find that some days you can eat more than others. The other night I was in grazing mode and ate a big plate of pickles. If you aren't 'stuffing' yourself, and sticking to the program with the right foods and are still losing weight, you are just having the same anxiety we all do! OMG, how can this possibly work if I'm not miserable, not having headaches and not shaking from hunger? I must have sabotaged it!!!! Relax, stick to the plan and get your water in...and watch it come off! Good luck to you!

Allie said it all! We all worry too much. The swelling is finally going down in your new pouch and you can hold more. I asked my dietician the same question last week (I am 5 wks post op) and she wasn't concerned at all just commented : "amazin' isn't it?" God bless you. Relax and enjoy the new year!!!
