Question:
I need some answers about changing insurance

I currently have bcbs of ala. and my husband just got a job if he puts me on his insurance will i have to wait for a year like i did with my insurance now.. and i have another question also. i have a job offer at this place and my dad works there and they have bcbs of ala. also and there is not pre. ex. condition clause on their policy..so does that mean that i could have the surgery without a waiting period..also it is their company policy that you have to be employeed 90 days before you can get insurance would i have to wait 90 days or since i have insurance now can i jsut change it over.. thanks for all the help you can give.    — April P. I'm not 100% sure but I would imagine that if you change to your husband's new insurance that you would HAVE to wait. Wouldn't it be considered a pre existing condition?? Now as far as the BCBS of Alabama is concerned you will probably have to call about that. It may just be a matter of changing group #'s. My husbands company changed group #'s mid stream in my approval process and I was freaking out. Turns out it didn't effect anything. Actually it was better coverage. Do you know if the other BCBS covers gastric bypass? I would call and just ask them. They are usually very polite about answering any questions a person has. That way you will know for sure.
