Question:
I am on Medicare, can anyone give me suggestions on gettin approved?

I'm on Medicare and have diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Also, I am 100 lbs overweight. I had my consult last week and my surgeon did not require me to have any pre-op tests such a psych evaluation or nutritionist. He told me Medicare patients do not need pre-approval. I will get my surgery date next week. I hope this helps.

Lorrie,I AM ON MEDICARE I had my surgery on 11-5-01.My Dr. handled all the papper work.He wanted to be paid in advance so medicare paid him all but$11.00.I PAID THAT. NOW THE HOSPITAL WAS PAID ALL BUT THE DECUTABLE WHICH WAS $700. SOMETHING.I HAD TO HAVE SEVERAL TEST BEFORE THE SURGERY MEDICARE REQUIRED IT.I hope this helped.If you want to email me it is [email protected] luck NANCY M.
