Question:
Has anyone else had mouth and throat ulcers after surgery

At first I thought it was just the breathing tube irritation that caused the ulcers, but the back of my throat looks almost repulsive with big yellow ulcers swollen out. I didn't see my throat until coming home from the hospital. I showed the ulcers on my lip to the surgeon and he said it was from the breathing tube. I'm wondering if I have strep. It's not entirely white like thrush. Has anyone else experienced this?    — mbradley35 (posted on August 17, 2002)

Melisa, Go to your PCP. IT may be a reaction to something from surgery, but like you said, it could also be strep or another infection. You need a culture done and antibiotics if appropriate. Good Luck!!
