Question:
Ladies help! This probably has nothing to do with the surgery but....

I know it is normal to experience hair loss after surgery which I am dealing with now, but has anyone noticed changes in the hair on legs and armpits? I am fair skinned with blond hair and before, I could get away without shaving for literally 2-3 weeks and no one could tell because my hair was so light and came back very slow. Now (and coincidence as soon as my hair started falling out) I have to shave minimum once a week because the hair there is so dark now and grows fast. What gives? Is it hormones or what? Please tell me someone else has experienced this! (I wish that hair would just fall out to!)    — salymsmommy (posted on December 10, 2002)

Tabetha, go visit this site www.inciid.org/faq/pcos.html and let us know if you have any other symptoms. Otherwise- hair growth/loss is triggered by hormones. Sometimes hormones fluctuate with weight gain/loss. However, the hair you are growing now, was more than likely generated a while back (since it doesn't grow over night)and you are just seeing it now. Hair cannot ungrow, it may get finer and lighter with hormone 'balancing'- but once hair is grown- it is grown.

I just spoke with my doctor yesterday about things to expect after surgery and was told that my hormones will change drastically after surgery. Probably hormones! God love them!

It's definitly hormones. I have been on my period since September 30th and it shows no sign of stopping soon. Talk about a pain. I'm 4 months & 1 day post-op, down 78 pounds. Losing hair everyday too.
