Are those supplements right for me to take after post-op?

I plan to have lap rny surgery in the near future.. I need to know if those GNC Women's Hair, Skin, and Nails Formula dietary supplements are right for me to take? I always take them every day for like two years.. They really help my hair to be health and good for my nails and my skin too.. Any advices?? Thanks!!    — danette (posted on December 15, 2002)

Hi, I had lap rny on May 28, 2002. I started taking Vista Vitamins about a month after surgery. All of my blood tests have come back excellent. They are easy to take. They do not get stuck so to speak. They are specially formulated for bariatric patients. Good luck. Barb P. lap rny May 28,2002 347/232

I take Real Meals. It has everything all in one place for me. The 60 grams of protein plus all of the vitamins we need in one place. It has biotin for the hair loss and something to prevent sagging skin too. You can start taking it at only a couple of weeks post op. Go to www.protein-solution.com

Danette, I would ask your surgeon or nutritionist if these are okay to take. Personally, I don't see why not but they may know something we don't. They may react with what they will have you take. Also, you can always take too much of something and that wouldn't be a good thing. Continued best wishes.

Keep on doing what you are doing, but not immediately post-op, you may not be able to swallow those "horse pills" right away~~for at least 4-6 weeks, I know I couldn't.
