Question:
why did you choose it?

I have my first visit with a surgeon from the wish center in Illinois on 1/28/03. I'm wondering if there is anyone out there that looked into different programs in the chicago area ie.. wish center, bariatric treatment center or weight for life which one did you choose and why?    — Katie B. hi there :) im in illinois too. :) i had to go with the surgeon that my hmo covered. the in network deal, so ireally had no choice in the matter. but im pleased to say im very happy how everything went. he is an excellent surgeon . i trusted him with my life and wow it is beautiful! :) my cousin has an appointment with him this tuesday. she had looked into the wish center was put off by the fact that they want 2000 out of pocket up front. good luck to you! :)

Hi -- I'm in Chicago. Started at the Wellness Center at Northwestern, and ultimately went with Dr. Frantzides at Rush. My profile gives some details about why I switched doctors...and I think switching doctors was one of the smartest decisions I made. I think which doctor and which program you choose is critical -- and you need to know yourself well enough to know what you need. Do you need a lot of aftercare? If the doctor gives you the rules once, will you follow them? Or are you the type of person who needs constant support? You also might want to check out www.peoriasurgicalgroup.com My surgeon is Dr. Stephen Marshall but I also like Dr. Rossi and Dr. Gupta. They are starting a bariatric program in Rockford as well, at Saint Anthony's. I am a former Rockford resident, now living one hour south. I am fortunate to be one hour from Peoria as well.
