Question:
I have smoked for 21 years and am having a real tough time kicking the habit

I am low-income, and am rolling my own ciagretts. I want to try the patch, but cannot afford them. It is cheeper to smoke rollies. Is there anyone willing to help? I am afraid that if I don't do something fast, my PCP will not allow me to go through surgery. He told me flat out that he would not allow me to do this as a smoker. I tried and tried with no luck. I have been waiting a long time, and I just finished my last appointment before approval. Somebody, please, HELP. Thank You for listening, and if you can help, please e-mail me from my profile. To those of you who helped me with my question about clothing, thank you, and may God shine over all of my new friends here at WLS, and hold them in his hands as they go down that path to the other side of surgery. Wonderful journies to all. Shariesa Brown    — Shariesa B. (posted on June 2, 2000)

Have you tried Zyban? It is an anti-depressant that helps you to quit smoking by raising your saratonin levels. It really works. It is usually covered by insurance with an anxiety diagnosis. Good luck Mary Anne

Shariesa, My mother smoked for 50 years, she was hyponotized and quit smoking. He programs out all the cravings so she didn't want any more, she didn't over eat so there was no weight gain and no bad attudide. She was great and it only cost her $80.00 but make sure you check around. My sister, brother-in-law(they came from Tenn. to Mi.) and to good friends went him. No one is smoking and that was 3 years ago.
