Question:
Rash around incision area

I have strange rash that keeps popping up in different areas around my incision area. It goes away and then comes right back in a different blotch. Help!    — Mellany P. (posted on May 29, 2001)

How long ago did you have surgery? Are you still wearing a dressing? I had an allergic reaction to the adhesive on the steritape used to close my incision. Your PCP or surgeon can probably tell you how to deal with it. Mine cleared up quickly when the tape was gone.
