Question:
My feet are always swollen and they tingle and now it seems to be moving up my legs

It is really painful and it worries me. I do excerise 6 days a week at the local college pool.    — Judith C. (posted on August 27, 2001)

I am 5.5 months post op, and I had the same thing happen to me. My legs were terribly swollen, and they were very red from the knee down. In fact, several people asked me if I had a sunburn on them. I had blood work performed, and I actually went on water pills for the problem. However, they only moderately helped. My blood work all came back normal. I had the tingling going up my legs, and it was painful to walk at one point. I finished the water pills; however, the swelling still lasted another three weeks before it finally went away on its own. I would suggest you talk to your doctor. My doctor wanted to make sure my liver was functioning properly. It may be another way of the body saying; are you starving me and dehydrating me at the same time. I hope this information helps a little.
