Question:
What is the cost of Adominoplasty?

I was told by my surgeon that I do need an adominoplasty. However, I was told that with my insurance, I will need to pay about 1/4 of the cost myself. I'm wondering how much this might be. Also, I'm wondering why they would cover only a partial amount? I'm a military wife, with TriCare Prime.    — [Anonymous] (posted on November 19, 2001)

I too am a military wife and just discussed this with my surgeon today. If you find a military hospital with a plastic sugeon (Fort Gordon, Ga) then you wont pay a dime. Let me know if you find out anything else or different....p.s. I had my Open RNY at a military hospital with no cost to me whatsoever.

Hi, I am also tricare prime and you need to retalk to them. I am preop as far as my wls goes, but I was fully aproved for a tummy tuck a while ago, and it was 100% paid for. I know it sounds wierd, tummy tuck and then wls thats a military doctor for you lol. But check into it especially since congress just passed a law this past fiscal year that there will no longer be co-pays not even the five dollars we used to pay to see an off base PCM. Any more questions please contact me. Good luck and by the way where are you stationed? ~Angel~

My friend is tricare prime she just had a breast reduction and had complications and had to stay in the hospital longer than she thought she was in a plush hospital with her own private room and treated like a queen off base for those of you who have had surgery on base you know there is a difference. :P Anyway, she didnt even pay a dime not even for her husband to stay there and eat it was covered too. So, I would definately look into it more sounds like you are getting the raw end of the deal.

If this helps...I just had abdominoplasty and brachioplsty with a hernia repair. The insurance paid for the hernia, the anasthesia and part of the OR and the hospital room. I paid the plastic surgeon's fee of $7500.
