Question:
I was been previously diagnosed w/a hiatal hernia, will that need to be fixed first?

I am still on the fence about the surgery-I have a friend who had it done 1 1/2 years ago and has already had a baby. I'd like to know if the hiatal hernia would need to be done first or if it could be taken care of during?    — mbntexas (posted on March 23, 2002)

I had the same thing before, and they automatically repaired it during the gastric bypass surgery.

I had a Hiatal hernia and took medication daily for it, I had surgery 11-12-02 (down 102 lbs) and I have not taken my medicine since surgery and have had NO troubles.
