Question:
What is the best, smallest multivitamin anyone has ever tried?

My Flinstones are about out and I need to buy a multivitamin. Which brands are the best tolerated for everyone?    — Amy M. (posted on May 1, 2002)

I use Vita4Life and love them! They are formulated for WLS patients. I take four/day (depends on the surgery you had). They are fairly small capsules, and i've never had any trouble with swallowing them. You can find them on the Vita4Life website.

I have started using Vitaball. They are gumballs that have the same vitamins in them as a multivitamin! They taste great and I always remember to use them because I chew one every morning on the way to work. I found them at the drug store, the grocery store, and at WalMart. The only bad (and good) thing about them is that they have no iron. That is good, though, because that way if a kid gets into them there is little danger (iron is very toxic to kids). I take an iron pill 2-3 times a week to make up for that. I have also used the Eckerd brand One-a-Day. They are small and coated--goes down easily. They do contain iron.

I use Vitasmart from Kmart. They are smaller than an M&M, and shaped just like one (not long as to not get stuck). They are inexpensive, about $3-$4 for 100. I get the multiple vitamins with iron. If you go looking for them, the bottle is dark blue, but clear so that you can see the pill before you buy. It has a hot pink top with bright orange and green on the label. I have loved using them since someone on this site recommended them when I was looking for a small vitamin. Good luck!

I have been using the Walgreens brand Multi Vitamins with Iron. They are orange and half the size of an M&M. They are $7.99 for a year's supply. Very inexpensive and seem to be doing the trick. My labs are all normal. Im sure theres a Walgreens close to you, like the commercial says. LOL : ) Good luck and God bless.

Just be sure that whatever multi-vitamin you choose has Vitamin K, per our nutritionist. Many do not.

I am pre-op. I have a friend who sells JuicePlus+ (try juiceplus.com) It provides naturally balanced whole food nutrition from a wide variety of nutritiously dense fruits and vegatables. You take two fruit capsules in the a.m. and two vegetable capsules in the p.m. I have let them even melt in my mouth and they are palatable. But you could mix them with applesauce or something like that. It is a great way to get in your fruits and veggies without having to eat a lot of fruits and veggies. The absoprtion has been scientifically demonstrated. It costs about $40 a month. I pay that in fruits and vegatables anyway and don't even come close to getting enough nutrients from them.

THE VITAMIN MY SURGEON RECOMMENDED IS VERY SMALL. IT'S ABOUT THE SIZE OF THE TIP OF A PENCIL ERASER AND VERY EASY TO SWALLOW. IT'S THE GENERIC CVS BRAND AND ITS CALLED DAILY MULTIPLE PLUS IRON. THERE'S 365 TABLETS FOR $7.99. I'M NOT SURE WHERE YOU ARE FROM AND IF YOU HAVE A CVS DRUG STORE NEAR YOU BUT I'M SURE SOME OTHER DRUG STORE SHOULD HAVE ABOUT THE SAME THING. GOOD LUCK

Go to your nutrition store and ask them for liquid vitamins. The brand I use (sorry, they are home and I don't remember the brand name) has an orangy taste and I put it in my OJ in the morning and you cant taste the vitamins. I absolutely HATED those Flinstones!! LOL
