Question:
ANY DOCTOR IN MICHIGAN THAT DOES TT AND RNY

I WAS JUST WONDERING IF THERE ARE IN SURGEONS HERE IN MICHIGAN THAT DO THE TUMMY TUCK AND RHY SURGERY AT THE SAME TIME. THAT WOULD BE SUCH A PLUS TO HAVE THEM BOTH DONE AT THE SAME TIME.    — Gale G. (posted on May 6, 2002)

I am not certain if any surgeon will do a tummy tuck at the time of your RNY...you will be losing so much weight after surgery you wouldn't benefit from the tuck. I go to Dr. Scholten in Grand Rapids and he is wonderful. I highly recommend him!! In fact, I am having my surgery today at 2:00! : ) Best of luck to you with whoever you go with.

Most people would not benefit from having a tt at the same time as their RNY. If, as a pre-op, your apron already hangs VERY low, low enough to interfere with walking, a doctor might do it. I have seen a few people who have had that done, but it is a very small number. Also, for people who qualify to have that done, most will still need another one once they have lost their weight.

If you are extremely over weight and have a huge panni before surgery, my surgeon has done severl RNY s and TT at the same time. Dr. Wood and Dr. Sapala www.micropouch.com
