Question:
Can anyone tell me how Horizion Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ works with WLS?

I have Horizon(BC/BS)NJ Plus,PPO. My daughter (surgery 6/02) and I (surgery 1/03) were both approved fairly easily. My only suggestion would be to keep on top of them. After my paperwork was faxed a 2nd time (claimed they never received the 1st fax) I called them everyday to get a confirmation that the paperwork was received. After that, I was approved in 2 weeks.

My doctor ended up faxing the papers to BCBS of NJ three times before I was approved, but another lady in the office had hers faxed once and we were both approved within 48 hours of BCBS receiving our papers. We have an EPO so I am not sure if that sped up the process or not.

I have Horizon BC/BS PPO and was approved within 2 weeks. No questions asked. They were terrific! Good luck!

Dear Christina, My husband had the surgery with Blue Cross Blue shield approving everything. They approved him within a very short time. We don't know exactly how long, as the doctor's office sent the paperwork in for us. Best of luck in your weight loss journey. God bless. Martha

I was approved soooooooooooo fast...but i thought that was because i work in the benefits dept for a large co..but from what i see here, they are great no matter what..
