I am original poster to question and I forgot to mention that my husbands insurance is most likely going to change 8/1/03 because that is when thier renewel is and I spoke to the lady that sells the ins. to my husbands job and she said they are probably changing ins.

umm, you are approved, they said yes you only have to wait 2 months? i would say you are lucky! some insurance compaies do not pay for wls period, i waited 6 months and had to appeal 3 times before i was finally approved! and my bmi was 64 with many comorbidites. 2 months is not all that long when oyu see the wait others have done. it gives you the time to loose a bit now and get healtheir, increase your exerciseand protein, so you will heal better and faster. i wish you happy days and good luck with your wls.

You have to wait a year- period. The very nature of morbid obesity requires it to be pre-existing. There's nothing you can do to change that. You just have to wait. If your policy is less than a year old they will question any surgery and blame it on pre-existing. You're lucky they don't try and cancel your insurance before then make sure that your premiums are on time!

Do I have this right? They say they have something you wrote that says you have a pre existing and you say you didn't write such a thing? I would ask for a copy of this document. I understand your despiration with insurance changes. You may want to contact a lawyer. Good luck.
