Unless your insurance requires a referral from your regular pcp, some do, some don't, just call up the surgeon of your choice and make an appointment. Thats all I had to do but first I did call my ins to see if it was covered under my policy. i had an exclusion except for medical necessity and mine was. Good luck. I hope you get started right away as some of the surgeons have a long wait. Don't worry about the tests and all that until you contact the surgeon. I see a lot of people getting their tests on their own but it is best to let the surgeon tell you what you need and what you should do. Let him lead the way and save yourself a lot of worry.

I agree. Make your appointment now! I had to wait from May of this year and my appointment is tommarow (yeah!)I could have gotten in with other physcians, but felt very comfortable with this surgeon and the wait will make it all worth while when I am through. Good luck and see you on the "other side" Julie
