Hi Bonnie, I've actually been seening my Doctor for the same problem. Thought I was having a heart attack. The sweats, confusion, visual problems and hunger attacks were getting pretting bad. My level would drop to the 40's and I'd eat some protein and it'd go back up. My doctor said possibly when my level goes up high from eating that my body is still releasing a higher does of insulin than I need now since losing 134 lbs. It is a really scarry thing to happen. Try watching your carbs like crackers, breads, & starches. I check my levels several times a day and keep something with me to eat at all times. My concern is a possible weight gain from eating more frequently.

I was a year out on the 7th of January and am seeing an endocrinologist next Friday for this. I have some days (like today) where I can barely see straight and no matter what I eat or don't eat, it doesn't seem to help much. I hate that some days only a hit of sugar will do it.

MOST of us, actually. It's the same disease we always had, just manifesting in yet another way. You might want to tune into the Grad list where we discuss reactive hypoglycemia fairly frequently. Here's the link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Graduate-OSSG
