Question:
RE: MY STATE HEARING WHAT DO U THINK

Hi gang First I'd like to thank everyone for their support, prayers and well wishes on my state hearing this past friday.... I'd like to know what you guys think of this.. the first question the hearing officer asked my ins. co. was since I was denied because they said I didn't meet medical necessity she asked what their definition of medical necessity was... The doc. said that i had to have used over the counter meds. and some prescriptions for back pain and under my pannus. I read my statement which included the over the counter meds I've used as well as prescription meds that I am now on for both issues. That I had letters of support from both my dermotologist as well as my pcp as well as had both of their chart notes with me , that I was on scripts for darvocet for back pain and an anti ich lotion, a cleansing bar and triamcinolone cream all of which are for use under my pannus. After my statement was complete the ins. co. (who was their via conference call) then said they didn't have all that info and documentation so they said to have my pcp resubmitt request for approval all over again with all the chart notes, they also mentioned that they had a 5 day turn around ( so hopefully I'll hear something soon). All this was before the hearing officer was able to say anything... So I'd like to know what you guys think, do you think that this is a good sign. And is it a good sign for them to say to resubmit again without it being the suggestion of the hearing officer...    — tracy W. (posted on March 7, 2005)
