Question:
Can you refer Surgeon in Philadelphia Pa. ?

Hello. I am a 39 Year Old Female with a BMI of 45.8 I have been out of work since June 2003, Because of My Weight and Medical Problems related to my Weight. I have tried SEVERAL Weight Loss Plans over the Past 20 Years, But have been unable to Keep at a Healthy Weight. I am a Member Of Health Partners Insurance, Via Welfare/Medicaid. Can you Help me to find a Surgeon who accepts Medicaid/Welfare Insurance to be approved for Gastric Bypass Surgery? Perhaps with your Help, My Primary Doctor and My Neurologist, You can help me Live again. Thank You for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Michele    — [Deactivated Member] (posted on April 24, 2005)

It has become harder and harder to get surgery approved with medicaid. Until recently it was approved like any other insurance as long as it was medically neccessary. I would like to suggest that you contact your insurance company to see if they will cover the surgery and if they do then you need to do a search on this web site for doctor's in your area and start calling to see if they except your insurance. YOu can even ask your inssurance company for some surgeons that do ths type of surgery that are in Health Partner's network. Good Luck Jersey Girl
