Question:
Would you do it again? Thighplasty & Butt Lift
I've scheduled plastic surgery to remove excess skin on my thighs and butt. I have a LOT of excess skin - one of the plastic surgeons that I talked to about it said that he had never seen anybody with that much excess skin on their butt and thighs! So, I think that I would be happier without the flapping skin, but . . . The doctor will do it in one surgery - approximately 8 hours worth. I'm getting cold feet here - anybody out there been through this and would you do it again? — Etta M. (posted on June 2, 2005)

Dr Vicor hugo Flores is an excellent and now works in Miami. I traveled to
south america for him, I would consider at least a consulation with him for
a second opinion.8hours seems like a long time. i know dr flores dosnt like
to keep anyone under anstherisa for more then 6hours. email me for his web

I had an inner thigh lift with a pantyline incision (not a vertical
incision down the thigh). I also had my butt lifted when I had the lower
body lift. I had the lower body lift and thigh lift done during the same
procedure, along with a breast lift. I was "under" for 6.5 hours
and my doctor didn't want to keep me under any longer. I did not have a
tremendous amount of extra skin on my thighs - hence the pantyline incision
- however, I am extremely happy with the results, especially what it did
for my butt. It looks much, much better. Best of luck whatever you
decide!

I had a thighplasty at the same time as my abdominoplasti and it only took
3 hours. I would get second opinions because anything over 6 hours can be
dangerous to be under anesthesia. Also look up Caroline Martin's profile
and email her. She had severe amounts of excess skin to the extent that it
would touch the toilet water when she sat down. She just completed all of
her plastics in 4 rounds including a circumferential LBL and extended
Thighplasty. She has pictures on www.picturetrail.com/carolineam but I
think they are password protected with ps in lower case. She is a good
friend of mine so let her know that I told you to talk to her. She will be
more than willing to share her experience with you.

I had an abdominalpasty that was so extensive that it took 6 hours all by
itself, it is true that it is better not to be under that long but all went
well with mine. I have also had a breast reduction & I am planning on
my arms in August and Thighs next year sometime. Good Luck to you.

I had an extended tummy tuck, neck/face/lower eyelid lift, which took five
hours. My surgeon said he would not go over five hours because of safety.
