What does BPD stand for?

Biliopancreatic Diversion. It is the most extensive gastric bypass surgery performed. You can find out more about all the different types of surgeries by going to the following webpage. http://www.asbs.org/html/story/ch_1.html The BPD is described in Chapter 3. This page talks about all the surgeries out there even the ones no longer performed.
