Question:
My insurance is a ppo phcs and I found out that my surgeon dropped out of the phcs!

OK, I am going to try this again! lol I messed up the first time by pressing enter by mistake! I have a few questions so maybe someone can help me! I found out that my surgeon dropped out of the PHCS (Private Health Care Systems) Now I will have to go outside of my network to go to him. 1. Has anyone had to do this? and 2. How much did it cost them in the long run? My insurance network will cover 80% after the deductible and outside it covers 60%. I found out that the hospital might still be in the PHCS so does this mean I will have to pay 2 deductibles? One for the surgeon and one for the hospital and I will be responsible for 40% of the surgeon's fees and 20% of the hospital fees. I pretty much get it but I want to know if this has happened to anyone? I would really appreciate anyone that could help me out! LOL My mind is in a whirl spin thinking about this! lol    — Stacy P. Sometimes you can negotiate (in advance) with the hospital to "act as if" they are preferred. But it works MUCH better if they know you CAN go across town! I just had to go outside to a "stranger", too. For a small procdure. Scary. At least he reported to my regular doctor! Whew.
