Question:
Does anyone have information about bariatrics in Canada?

I live in B.C. Canada , I am extremely overweight , my doctor says he is looking into it but hasn't found anything to help me yet ..... I am not very patient , so am taking the initiative and trying to find info myself. Can anybody help me ? My worst problem is that he says there are doctors who won't consider taking me on because I have just survived a bout of blood clots in my veins and right lung , and now am taking blood thinners. hi there, I live in Edmonton and there is a wonderful Dr. in Cardsten Alberta. It is 40 mins from Lethbridge, I have surgery on march 13,2001. It is covered by alberta health care no problem, you need a referal by your Dr. and you have a consultation with the Dr.s there, let me know if you want more specifics...good luck!

Hi Rebecca I found a website www.asbs.org/html/member/cana.html It lists 2 docs from BC that perform the surgey. I also noticed that when I signed up for this website it gave a whole list of doctors in US and Canada (several from BC). Good Luck in your search. Keep me posted on how things are going. Lisa
