Question:
I had an echocardiogram last Friday and the results today were that I

have Mitro Valve Regurgitation and mild Tricuspid Regurgitation -- I haven't talked to the cardiologist yet but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if it was a problem with their gastric bypass surgery -- I am scheduled for my surgery on 5/30/01 -- I don't want to have to reschedule.    — Donna H. I was born with a piece of the mitral valve missing and consequntly have a murmer. I also had TERRIBLE high blood pressure (258/150) which caused my heart to enlarge abnormally. The most specific precaution my surgeon took (and I have to take with any surgery or even dental work) was that I had to take 500 mg of pennicilian three times a day for five days prior to the surgery. My cardio man also was present in the operating room (just in case, NOT needed THANK GOD!). Please check with your surgeon and your cardiologist.
