Question:
Will insurance typically cover the cost of the psych eval? I have MI Blue Cross/Blue

Shield Traditional with Master Medical Insurance. My carrier would not pay for my consultation with a gastric specialist or my evaluation with my bariatric surgeon so I doubt if they will pay for my psych eval. I have BC/BS with MM.Last year I did not have Master Medical so I had to pay for my psych eval , Dr visit etc. I was not able to have the RNY and am now waiting for approval for theDS. MM did pay for my most recent eval with my surgeon.It seems to me if you have met your deductible for the year that MM should cover it. I think I would ask to have it resubmitted. Good Luck! Kathy

I have Blue Cross and Blue Sheild (MI/Community Blue) and only half was covered. Check to be sure, because my surgeon's office swears the whole thing should of been covered. It's good to call the insurance company and ask to make sure in case the psych.'s office makes a mistake and you end up paying. Or vice versa! Good Luck!
