Question:
Anyone had pain like this?

I am 7 months post op, lap RnY. From the start I have had daily pain, right in center, under the ribcage. Sometimes mild, sometimes so severe I can not walk or stand-up. It is aggravated is I sit upright (like at work) too long, or stand and walk more than a few minutes. Once it gets hurting, I can not eat, the stomach cramps up or something. Reclining reduces the pain. Doctors (surgeon and Gastro) both say they have never heard of this and have no idea of how to help. Any ideas? Separately, I have had digestion problems from the start as well. Have had the stoma stretched twice by Endoscopy. I can eat more soft foods now, but it did not impact the pain.    — LindaMe (posted on July 13, 2001)

Perhaps you should see another surgeon who does the Gastric Bypass and ask them. (Not someone your surgeon knows). This would be for a second opinion. Sometimes I've heard of them leaving an instrament inside of people (that's probally not the case, but who knows). Don't wait. Find someone who may be able to help. Life's to short for pain, and it may cause another problem too. Good luck.
