Question:
How do you know if a drink has caffeine in it?

For example, I wanted to try Crystal Light Peach Ice Tea. Doe sit have caffeine--it doesn't seem like real tea. Is Crystal Light a good drink option?    — [Anonymous] (posted on December 18, 2001)

Crystal Light is a wonderful drink option. Just drink drink drink. I really don't think that any of the crystal light products are caffeinated.....

Crystal light teas do have caffeine in them. They use to carry a decaffeinated tea but I haven't seen it in the stores lately. If you want to make sure call the company that makes the product and ask them. They will be able to tell you.

Crystal Lite isnt even real tea. People get so hung up on this. No caffeine... not real tea. Plus it doesnt matter about the caffeine after the first 6 weeks anyhow.

According to Crystal Light, their tea flavours contain 15mg of caffeine per 8oz serving, except the decaf flavours. Not sure where the previous poster obtained her info from. Call the 1-800 number.

Actually, it does matter if a drink has caffiene. You shouldn't have caffiene within a few hours before or after your daily iron supplement.

Caffeine always matters! 1) Caffeine increases the appetite; 2) Caffeine is a diuretic; 3) Caffeine is a stimulant! WLS patients need to get all the water they can. Drinking products with caffeine REDUCES the water we absorb could absorb in the drink...it doesn't matter if it's 6 weeks or 6 years post-op.

You read the ingredients on the label. A moderate amount of caffeine is just fine. Like, a couple of cups of coffee or tea a day.....or a daily diet coke. We have to have some vices!

I am a nurse and consider myself very informed about caffeine and it's problems. If it's a soft drink, just read the label. If it's coffee or tea, assume that it has caffeine unless labeled 'decaffeinated'.
