Hello. I created a website that you may feel free to look at. There is a section called \"the surgery and hospital stay\" and I think I go into pretty good detail. It also has before and after pictures, as well as monthly jounals of my journey. Feel free to browse around. Good luck in your own journey, and happy holidays. The site is http://www.geocities.com/snow_flakefairy1/wls.html

If you want to know about the \"hospital stay from hell\" you can read about mine from my profile. Other than that I would like to add... \"whatever you do GET A PRIVATE ROOM!\" This was the \"only time\" I did\'nt have one. I would rather be dragged behind a horse than ever suffer with ignorant a$$\'s for roommates again. I never knew people could be so rude and \"even the hospital allows it\". It would have cost an extra $40 a day ($120 total). It would have been money well spent if I had known what roommates were really like.

I\'m 4 weeks post and went to a hospital that only does WLS, BTC in Dallas. I had a roomate the first day but was so drugged out it was not an issue. The second day I had my own room and I liked that better.I was in for a total of 3.5 days and was ready to leave at that.I dont know what your concern is but for me it wasnt too bad. Most of the nurses were very helpfull.I was not quite prepared and a nurse went out and bought some clothes for me,loose sweats. There was one or two power hungry nurses but that is just human nature and unavoidable. They must get you up and moving soon afer surgery for your own good. I found the more co-operative I was the better all round! No water for almost 3 days but your I.V. takes thirst away. I had no pain ever from the surgery site and only got nauseaus once. There were others who were not doing as well as I, coughing and sick, but they could have been smokers. All in all its not as bad as I had imagined but am glad I am past it.Good luck, greg

Feel free to take a look at my profile. Just click on my name and you\'ll get about 4 pages worth of hospital descriptions -- nothing is spared! Please let me know what you think. Felissa

Thank you so much - all of you - for posting your hospital experiences. I have just scheduled my first consult (not until Feb 2003 - 4 months from now!), but have been trying to learn as much as I can. I know most of the technical stuff, but hearing your personal stories has really helped me. Best wishes to you all, and thanks again for being willing to share.
