Question:
I'm seven months post op....and my stomach has begun to GROWL!!

This would be amusing...if it wasn't so LOUD...lol. Usually about 15 minutes after I eat something...it starts to growl...very loudly. I'm glad this usually means "the plumbing is working okay".....but, sheesh...when does it settle down??? I can laugh it off at home....but, in restaurants...it's a little "disconcerting" to others. Other than this...I could be a "poster kid" for this surgery. (Open Rny) I'm 5'1"....57...have lost 77 lbs. in the last 7 months. Was 250....now 177...and "heading downward"...grin. Have had NO complications at all so far.    — Sheila E. (posted on January 23, 2002)

I have the same problem, but mine does it after I eat or drink, even with water. I asked my doctor about it, he said it was normal because the plumbing is not the same.

I am 6 mos post op and have the same problem. I, like you have had no problems and can pretty much eat what I want in small amounts and have lost 95 pounds. It was very hard at first to deal with the noise, but while eating out one night my stomach growled and the lady at the table sitting beside us looked over at me and my 5 year old son said that's my mom's stomach telling her she's eating right and has had enough, and since that time it no longer bothers me when it happens. Boy do kids have terrific insight. Now thats just the way I look at it, and it makes it awhole lot easier to deal with.
