Question:
Any dr's who take self-pay low up front payment &hospital that goes based on income?

HI I was just wondering. Are there any surgeons that have reasonably low up front fees and that work with hospitals that will work with someone who cannot get financing based on income??? Just thought I would mention that I am from the Ohio Valley area(near Steubenville) and my sister-in-law's sister just died (they are removing life support tomorrow) and she had her surgery at Trinity (Formerly St Johns). They don't know how long she was brain dead. I am not trying to scare you, but I feel you should be informed.

Maybe Beffy could let Michelle know which surgeon was involved with her sister-in-laws surgery (and if it was WLS?)? I remember crying with a mother whose child had died as the result of probable malpractice at a well known hospital in my area. The same hospital my father has been in and treated VERY well many times over many years. If possible this will be the hospital of my surgery. Even at the best hospitals tragedies happen and there are incompetent people in every line of work everywhere. I believe the most important factor is researching your surgeon and anestysiest. You are absolutely correct. I will find out who her surgeon was. Sorry, I forgot to mention that it was WLS that she had. I can tell you that there are only a few surgeons at that hospital that perform WLS. I was not only concerned with the surgeon though, I was also concerned with the lack of care at the hospital. The staff did not know how long she was laying there before they found her. It is upsetting to hear that they were not paying that much attention to her care and well being. I will update more when I find out more. Sorry for the lack of details, but it really caught me off guard.
