Question:
How can I rush BTC acceptance?

BTC has their own preapproval process similar to BC/BS. How can I assure that they will approve me quickly and what is the usual length of time for approval??    — Angela G. (posted on March 15, 2003)

Are you asking about insurance or medical clearances? BTC doesn't approve your insurance...although they do process it, which takes awhile. I think it helps to check in every few days to see how things are progressing.

I too went through BTC. They submitted my authorization request to my insurance for approval from the Michigan office. I called a couple of weeks after my initial consult to check on the status and then every few days I would check in. I found everyone helpful and friendly. They really didn't take long at all. Hi Anglea! I went for my consult on 01/13/03. I was advised by my doctor that I need a pulmonary function test and a psychological evalutation before he would sign off on my information to go to pre-approval. I had psych consult on 01/18/03. Pulmonary function test on 01/22/03. Insurance approval called on 02/05/03 to advise me of my surgery date of 03/24/03. I have 8 days to go. This at least gives you a timeline.
