Question:
Waht is this tightening feeling in my stomach?

I am almost 3 weeks post op. My pouch feels like it almost spasming. I get this tight, painful feeling just between/below my breasts right in the center. I have had it all day and nothing relieves it. It is there whether I eat or not. Food does not make it worse. It gets really tight like it is being squeezed, and then lightens up. It is pretty constant. I have had some retching, but not today. It is quite bothersome and worse when I lay down. What is this?    — [Deactivated Member] (posted on September 10, 2003)

I am 5 weeks post-op, and at about 3 weeks post-op I had real bad pains and a bloated feeling in my stomach. I took some Gas-X and it helped, and I figured it out, it was trapped gas, I took teaspoon of Phillips milk of magneasa and it helped me have a bm the next morning and that relieved the gas some and the pain. Then I started taking a sublingual B-12, B-6 and folic acid complex and the gas and constipation ad tiredness went away and I started having a daily bm, and the gas sure lessened.

You ARE having muscle spasms which is pretty common the first few weeks after wls. Eventually it will stop.

Hi Terri, I had a feeling like that around the same time. It was like I had sat there and done sit ups all night!! It was discomforting but I had forgot all about it until I read your post. It will go away, Im not sure when but it will. I would always try and relax when my tummy felt like that. Hope this helps some. Take care!!
