hi Lisa When you get home and are on a clear liquid diet you should have sugar free jello, clear broth, tea, cream of wheat or oatmeal. If you are on a pureed diet when you are released than you can have just about anything that is creamy like baby food. You don't really have to buy babyfood just have soft foods like boiled veggies that are very soft and chew chew chew. If your pouch will be banded, remember that the opening will be the size of a dime and since you are still going to be swollen it will be even smaller. George

What did your doctor tell you? I would definitely do whatever he told me. All our needs are different and each doctor does things so differently based on our individual needs so I would stick to his advice. Good luck to you

Crystal Light, sugar free popsicles & jello, V-8, high protein supplement, no milk or sugar, broth... The vitamins you need depend on which procdure you had. If you successfully avoid milk, you'll need calcium. You can get it in MANY forms.

I just got back from the market myself, and my doctor actually provided us with a grocery list..here is what I purchased, oh yeah my surgery is 7-14. Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast, Ultimate Protein System (powder)40grams. Sugar Free Jello, sugar free pudding mix sugar free popsicles & fudgsicles, low fat cottage cheese, chicken broth, chicken noodle soup, B12 sublingual tabs, Bugs Bunny Complete sugar free chewables, and a case of small bottles of Poland Spring Water. Just in case I am out walking, & Crystal Light, many different flavors, because I am not sure which I will like. Hope that was helpful...

Anything you can put through a strainer. I did lots of mashed potatoes, cream of wheat, soup, and yogurt. As far as what to drink - water, water and more water.

The first week following surgery you drink only liquids, water, juices, cut i/2 with water, broth, etc. no sugar or dairy prducts. The next 4 weeks are soft foods, cottage cheese, I even used baby foods, remember no sugar or dairy products they will sabatoge your weight loss. Your doctor will give you the specifics.
