Question:
Has Aetna approved anyone recently---especially in KY?

Anthem has repeatedly denied me coverage for WLS, so I am planning to change to Aetna in October. I see that several site members have been approved by Aetna, but I've noticed most of them had surgery last year. Anyone out there been approved in the last six months?    — Gina V. yes!!! i was just approved by aetna ppo in june of 2000.my surgery date is sept, 5th. i have had no problems with my insurance thr only thing i had to have was my letter of medical necessity and my psych eval. well i hope this helps.

Yes, I was approved in March after only a couple of weeks. I have Aetna EPO. I had surgery in May and am happy to report, I'm down 48 lbs. Yeah!!!

Hi there, I have Aetna PPO, I am scheduled for surgery Sept 18, however, I think that will be moved. It took 2 1/2 weeks to get them to say they got the letter from my surgeon. Then now a month later, they want a Diet history of all diets,pills etc i have ever tried at what age and how long and what were the results. I know of another lady here in town with the same insurase who basically went through all the "stall" tactics, but was approved. I have every reason to believe i will be also. I was approved by Aetna-US Access in about three weeks with no hassles. From what I understand Aetna is one of the better insurance companies for WLS. I think whether they come back for more info has a lot to do with how thorough your surgeon's office is in submitting the request for surgery.
