Question:
I've just finished ALL of my pre-op testing and today I found out that my surgeon is
moving----6 hours away. I'm not sure what to do now. I've heard of a Dr. in Knoxville (since I started my quest) but I've forgotten his name. Any help is appreciated. — Becky H. (posted on August 23, 2000)

I live in the knoxville area (Maryville/Alcoa actually) and I am not aware
of any Dr. in Knoxville area who does WLS. There is a dr. in Johnson City,
Dr. Compton and in Nashville there is Dr. Husted (my WLS surgeon) and
someone at Vanderbilt Hosp. Hope this helps.

There are several surgeons within a reasonable distance in Tennessee. There
is Dr. Compton in Johnson City, not far from you at all. In Nashville,
there is Dr. Husted who does surgery at Cenntenial Med Center and Dr.
Wright who does surgery at Vanderbilt. You might want to talk to Victoria
Bowen, Janice King, and Starr Waddell just to name a few who had Dr. Husted
as their surgeon and all are very happy with him. Hope this helps.

Dr John Kelly Wright is also in Nashville.He is located at
Vanderbilt University Hospital. He is also a Liver transplant
surgeon. He is in the data base in this site. Just check in
on surgeons in Nashville. He is doing my surgery on
Sept 26, 2000. There is a support group every Friday at the

Dr. Mark Colquitt, Dr. Jonathan Ray both are in Maryville at Blount
Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Stephen Boyce located in Knoxville at Parkwest Hospital.
