Question:
Has anyone found a doctor who performs WLS using the laparoscopic in Kentucky?

I live in Louisville, Kentucky and have been researching WLS. I am seriously considering it, but cannot find a doctor in Louisville who does surgery laparoscopically.    — [Anonymous] (posted on January 7, 2001)

I do not know of any Lap Docs here in Ky. I am in Louisville. We looked and there are none. My Doctor was Shina, Gaar and several others are good. keep looking, but that is what I am aware of.

I live in Frankfort and have been looking for one in Kentucky myself that will do it. Thus far, I have hit nothing but dead ends. There are plenty that do the other method, but so far none that perform the lap procedure. Good luck

Dr Jeff Allen in Louisville is doing laparoscopic rny. I think he is the only one. He is GREAT!

The Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Kentucky has started to do this surgery laprascopically. Since it is new, they want patients with training wheels (low bmi, no previous abdominal surgeries, no co-morbidities). Look for them to get going full steam by summer or fall of 2002. Contact Dr. Anderson for screening and passage on to the surgeons.

Dr Bolar in Georgetown is doing Laparoscopic surgery. Mine is scheduled with him 05/28/02.
