Question:
How do you manage your stomach apron before a panni...?

I have noticed that alot of the post-op pictures are either head, neck and chest shots or a not so tight blousened shirt. If you are wearing a size 24/26, and drop down to a size 10 within the year, how do you fit that apron into those slacks? Is it a problem?    — Elizabeth P. (posted on December 20, 2001)

Hi Elizabeth, I was a size 28 pre op. I am now a size 10-12 (11 mo post) I do have that apron- but not a large one, not one that I will consider surgery for right now. I don't have a problem with tucking in my shirt into my slacks at work (I work at a Dr.'s office) But I do know that others do have a problem- One friend wears a panty girdle.

I was one of those people that dropped from an 8x to a size 16. I wore a body shaper all the time. It was so much more comfortable then letting it hang. My panni was so big that it hurt for it to hang down. Two days short of my one year anniv. of WLS I had a Tummy Tuck. That was the 2nd best thing that I ever did for me. He removed over 18 pounds and within 6 weeks I went from a 16 to a size 8. Spandex will be your new best friend until you can't get the panni removed.

I've gone from a 28-30 to a petite size large. I have quite a panni, and wear Hanes Her Way Shape Smooth (all cotton) briefs. They have a panel in front to support the tummy. I don't feel comfortable wearing the long legged girdle, but I find the cotton tummy hugging briefs make me feel a little snugger and less "out there."

I actually wear 2 pairs of underwear. I put the front of one pair under my stomach apron and the other pair over. I have struggled with this problem for years and found this to be the best and most comfortable way to solve my problem Good Luck, Kris
