Question:
blue cross blue schield of minnesota likelyhood of approval ?

BCBS of Minnesota (unless listed in your policy as an exclusion) will pay for it if it is medically necessary. They will however deny it first time for additional information. The nurse I spoke to when I had the policy said they do pay, but will deny for additional info, as long as you get the info in to them they will pay.

I know Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Georgia doesn't as of 2005. So Hopefully it's not all the Blue Cross/Blue Shield's in the USA. I have the above mentioned and have already checked into it. Thank God for Medicare which is my secondary which does allow it.

Amber- I was approved my first time thru with MNBCBS with a BMI of 43.5 and no co-morbitities. Several were "looming" though.

I also have BC/BS of Minnesota and it only took me 10 days to get approved! I was very worried at first but it turns out they are very understanding. My surgery is August 25 and I can't wait! Just be patient and Good luck in your Journey!
