Has your doctor taken a look at your outlet yet? Protein is my second language. What have you tried?

I have a liquid protein supplement I once lived on for a year and lost 200 pounds, (only to gain it back). The protein is egg based and from a company called "Health Management Resources". The web page is http://www.drdiet.com/Products/hmr_shakes.htm They have several kinds, one type is not so low in calories and would be good for you since you need some calories. The best way to prepare them is with a "Mix Master", you can buy them at Walmart. You add water and ice, then blend the powder in. They come in pre-measured pouches so you don't have to measure them. I added some Equal sweetner to make them taste like a milk shake. If you let them blend a while they get really thick and nice.

I recommend Designer Protein from GMC. I know of many post-ops that also use it. I tolerate it very well & it tastes good. I also find water "heavy" on the tummy & drink Gatorade. My surgeon said this was fine. Good luck. Michelle R

I buy my protien from an online friend. She had a distal and sells only to wls patients. What I really like about her is that she will send you a sample (which she measures to around 30 grams of protien...actually bigger than most of the serving sizes on the containers) of any/all flavors at $1 each. I found this to be a wonderful option as I didn't want to pay a bundle for something I absolutely hated! If you want her e-mail address/phone number, let me know. I don't want to sound like I'm advertising for her or anything, so I'm hesitant to post her info here! PollyAnna [email protected]

My favorite od from GNC. It is called Soy Protein for woman. It is 24 grams of protein, 150 calories, and 14.99 a can. 21.99 if you buy 2. It also tastes better than the others I have tried.

NutriSOY makes a great protein powder that is easily mixed with a drink of your choice. (Milk, Juice, Applesauce). It is in retailers nation wide or you can buy it through us. Please Call me at 1-888-769-0769. I was at a convention last week and met someone who had surgery a year ago and has been using our protein powder as part of her recovery. Thanks, Kiersten
